Laptop Repair in Port Dover and Norfolk County

Most of the laptops I get called out to are not broken. They are slow, packed with junk that came with them, running the fan flat out, or the owner has been fighting the same pop-up for three weeks and has had enough. That is a fixable afternoon, not a write-off.

I am Szabi. DoverPC is me, a bag of tools and a car. If you searched laptop repair near me and got a page of shops in Brantford or Hamilton, that is exactly the gap I am trying to fill. I come to your kitchen table in Port Dover, Simcoe, Delhi, Waterford, Jarvis or Vittoria and do the work in front of you.

What I actually fix

  • Laptops that have slowed to a crawl — startup clogged with programs nobody asked for, no free disk space left, browser buried in toolbars.
  • Viruses, malware and the pop-ups that will not close. Removed properly, then set up so it does not happen again.
  • Windows that will not update, will not boot properly, or throws the same error every morning.
  • Wi-Fi that drops, printers that will not connect, a new laptop that needs everything moved off the old one.
  • Overheating and fan noise — usually years of dust, and usually cheap to sort out.
  • Backups, before you need them rather than after.

If it is a laptop and it is misbehaving, start by telling me what it does. I will give you an honest read on whether it is worth my time before you spend anything.

There is no shop to drive to, and that is deliberate

People search for a computer repair shop because that is the word everyone knows. I want to be straight with you: DoverPC is not a storefront. There is no counter, no drop-off desk, no ticket number, and no three-day wait while your laptop sits on a shelf behind someone else’s.

I come to the house instead. You do not unplug anything, you do not carry a machine anywhere, and you can watch what I am doing and ask why. For a lot of people — especially if driving to Simcoe is a bother — that is the whole point. If the job genuinely needs a bench and a few hours, I will tell you that too, and we sort out how to get it done.

Some things I can do remotely, over a secure connection, without either of us leaving the house. Anything physical — heat, noise, a machine that will not power on — I need to be in the room for.

What it costs

Repairs and tune-ups are flat-rate, so you know the number before I start. These are the same three packages listed on the front page:

PC Speed Boost

$129

A one-hour session. Clear out the clutter and the pop-up programs, free up disk space, make startup quicker, run a security check.

Deep Clean & Tune-Up

$179

Two hours. Everything above, plus a thorough cleanup, the safety and system updates that matter, proper protection against scams and viruses, and a disk health check so a failure does not take your photos with it.

Complete PC Revival

$229

Three hours, for older or badly infected machines. A genuine fresh start, with seven days of follow-up afterwards in case something crops up.

One-on-one tech training, if you would rather learn to do something yourself than have me do it, is $95 per hour with a one-hour minimum.

You get the price before I begin. No hidden fees, no bill that grew while you were making tea.

What I will not do

I will not take your money to fix a laptop that is not worth fixing. If it is old enough that you would be better off buying new, I will tell you that plainly, even though it means I do not get the job. One of the nicest things anyone has said about this business was that I told them their old computer was not worth repairing rather than charging them for it.

And if you bring me something outside what I handle, I will say so rather than have a go and hope. You are better served by an honest no than a confident guess.

How it usually goes

You call or send the form. You tell me what the laptop is doing — in whatever words you like, you do not need the right terminology. I give you a straight answer about what it probably is and what it will cost. We pick a time. Most common problems are done in one visit of an hour or two. Bigger jobs I am usually handing back inside 24 to 48 hours, and you will know which one yours is before I start.

No jargon, no rushing, and no making you feel silly for not knowing. That part is not marketing — it is most of the job.

Tell me what it is doing

Call or text, or fill in the form and I will get back to you. Serving Port Dover, Simcoe, Delhi, Waterford, Jarvis and Vittoria in person, and the rest of Canada remotely.
